Day 5
Hi! My name is Nora and I’m going to create something.
I’ve been thinking a lot about what kind of game I want to create. I have some ideas in my head that I think are pretty good but I don’t really want to tackle them right off the bat. I know that I have a lot to learn before I start tackling those if I want to do them justice. With that in mind, I’m going to try my hand at something simple first. I’ve decided on a simple mobile app ball maze game. It’s just going to be a ball model, some light physics and a maze. It should be easy enough. I’m sure there are a million of them out there so I don’t expect to make anything on it. This one is for experience.
I’ll be starting today by getting my environment setup and making a simple metal ball in blender. Once I’ve done that, I’ll begin work on making a VERY simple maze. I may update this post at the end of the day with some pictures of my progress. So stay tuned!

Edit:
As promised! I made decent progress on the ball and maze (#notamaze). The colliders look good and the physics seems to react as I wanted it to. Not bad. I made both in blender and then exported them as fbx and imported them into Unity. The mesh colliders seemed…. to not work as i hoped they would. So I ended up making some simple box colliders for the maze. Side note, this website is really ugly. I think I’ll spend some time making it a bit prettier soon.
